For this Tuesday Technique I chose Brick Wall. I just received my Watercolor Trio stamp set and thought it would look nice on the brick wall background. You stamp your background stamp first, I used Stampin' Up!'s Sanded Background. Next stamp your main image using a "solid stamp". I chose Watercolor Trio from Stampin' Up!'s new Summer Mini 2010. Once you are done stamping, use your paper trimmer to cut 1/2" horizontal strips – keep them in order! Next using a ruler and pencil mark off 1" increments on the 1st row. On the 2nd row mark 1/2" then 1" increments for the rest of the row. Repeat row 1 & 2 until all rows are cut. TIP: Keep each row in order as you cut them, otherwise you will have a jigsaw puzzle!
Next I used the direct to paper technique to ink the edges of each "brick". Using snail I then adhered the bricks to a layer of cardstock that enhances the image. You will not use all your bricks, just chose the ones you need to complete your "wall". This is a sneak peak of one of the 3 cards I will be teaching at my technique class tomorrow night. Enjoy!
If you liked this technique and would like to learn how to do this technique hands on, book a workshop with me, I will be glad to show all your friends how to make this card as well.
I just love your card technique and this stamp set really goes well with it. Thanks for sharing.
