Today I am featuring some of our shoebox swaps from Saturday's meeting. The first is by Carrie Arsenault. Carrie used the Strength & Hope stamp set from Stampin' Up!'s 2011 Summer Mini.

Stampin' Up! Carrie Arsenault Strength & Hope card

Carrie used the Polished Stone technique for the background, a quick and easy technique for beginners using Stampin' Up! 's Glossy Cardstock, alcohol, reinkers, a cotton ball and our heat tool. The butterflies were embossed with silver embossing powder, cut out and attached with dimensionals. Basic Jewels Rinestones and a strip of Brushed Silver cardstock punched with the Dotted Ribbon Punch complete this card. Isn't it simply gorgeous!!

Below is a clean and simply card designed by Cathy Autrey for her shoebox swap. Cathy used Stampin' Up!'s clear acrylic block to stamp the River Rock background. Cathy used Pocket Silhouettes for the focal image.

Cathy's tip: Use something softer between the cardstock and table — like a mini catalog or silicone mat! This helps to avoid a bare spot in the middle of your image.

Next is a card by Kathy Kluzak. Kathy chose Fabulous Florets from Stampin' Up!'s 2011 Summer Mini for her shoebox swap. Kathy sponged the backgound with Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive, then used a mask to stamp the leafy image. The flowers were stamped on Whisper White cardstock, cut out, and attached with Stampin' Dimensionals. The focal piece is mounted on Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper.
