For Splitcoaststampers Creative Crew CCREW0312HF (Holiday Focus) this month, we were asked to Celebrate National crafting month! We were asked to pull that idea that you've been "wanting to do" out and create it. We could use any theme, and create any type of project, decor item, centerpiece, something with fabric, etc.
Well, this is just what I needed to, pull out that pattern I had bought 3 years ago for a purse made with fat quarters. After looking in my fabric closet (yes, I also collected fabric and patterns before stamping) for an hour, I found the pattern I was looking for. Next, I chose the fabrics which was easy! I loved the new Twitterpated Designer Fabric from Stampin' Up! and I also used Springtime Vintage Designer Fabric as well. Below is my completed project.

Below are more cards using Stampin' Up!'s Sew Suite stamps set from the 2011 Occasions Mini catalog. I also used Sincere Salutations and Puns from the Past from Stampin' Up!'s 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog. I did a bunch of cards using the oh sew Suite collection last month. On the first card I added an "embossed button" tied with Linen Thread.

Both cards used Stampin' Up!'s Sweet Stitches Designer Series Paper for the background. Wouldn't your quilting friends love receiving these cards?

Don't forget that this is the last month you can order out of the 2011 Occasions Mini, it expires April 30, 2011.
Have fun stamping and come back tomorrow. Leave a comment on what you would like to see on my blog!

Continuing with my 3-D flower posts, this flower is made with 5/8" Regal Rose grosgrain ribbon. Regal Rose ribbon has retired, however, you could substitute any wide ribbon like Daffodil Delight or Pumpkin Pie and use fall colors. I used the regal rose as I was not sure if I could do flower! Well not to worry, it is not as hard as I thought. The hardest part is just holding it down as you twist and adhere the ribbon to the base. I watched a video by Andrea Walford and then tried it. Andrea used Frabri-Tac ? adhesive. I used Aileen's Tacky Glue and it worked fine, I just had to hold it down a little longer. Basically you start with a 1 3/4 inch circle and start in the center with the ribbon. I attached the ribbon to the center with a staple (don't remember if Andrea did that, however, it made it much easier to start the flower) then twisted the ribbon and started the center, glued it down, twisted more ribbon, glued and continued in a circle twisting and attaching until it is the size I wanted. Once dry, trim the base so it does not show. I did spritz my card, including the flower and leaves, with Smooch. Here is my card:

I used the Color Coach for the colors and must say the Tempting Turquoise really makes this card. Leaves were run through the crimper and then hand cut.
