by Jean | Apr 16, 2015 | Birthday, Cards, Crinkled Chalk
Today's card is a card we made at my April clubs and Maine Stampers' team meeting.
This card used the Crinkled Chalk technique with the Rose Coral Pad from page 25 of Stampin' Up!'s Occasions catalog. Stamp sets used are By the Tide and Guy Greetings.

You could use the accordian card to make a mini album, however, I cut up the accordian card and made 4 gift/note cards and enclosed them in the box with an embelishment for the top flap. I used the Bokeh technique on one of the cards.

Have you ordered Stampin' Up!'s Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper from the 2015 Occasions catalog yet? Well you might need to after you see the cards we made at my Painted Blooms class last Saturday. We made 8 different cards from one sheet of paper! I will be focusing my posts this week on those cards. Here are the first two cards we made:
Card 1:
I used Crazy About You Bundle (#138873, $42.25 photopolymer) for the sentiment and Butterfly Basics Bundle (#138865, $41.50 photopolymer) for the Butterfly.
and Card 2:
I used Sassy Salutations from Stampin' Up!'s Annual catalog for the sentiment, along with the in-Color Sequins.
I took the sheet that is pictured in the Occasions Catalog on Page 18 ( #137784, $10.95) and cut it as follows:
1. First cut 1 1/2" off the bottom of the 12" x 12" paper (this is where all the stems are). Now cut this bottom strip at 5 1/2" and at 11". You will have 2 pieces 5 1/2" x 1 1/2" and a scrap. You will use these two pieces on two of the cards I will post this week.
2. Next take your 12" x 10 1/2" piece and cut on the 12" end at 4", 8" and 12" you will have 3 strips 4" x 10 1/2".
3. Cut these 3 strips in half at 5 1/4". You will now have 6 pieces measuring 4" x 5 1/4".
4. On the 3 cards that I used a mat behind the Designed Paper, I trimmed 3 Designer Paper pieces down to 3 3/4" x 5". Do not cut it yet, wait until you see all 8 cards and I will note which pieces need to be trimmed down.
Both of the above cards used Designer paper trimmed down to 3 3/4" x 5".
More tomorrow ….

I hosted my Maine Stampers Team monthly meeting on Sunday and everyone was excited to see the projects everyone had made with products from Stampin' Up!'s 2015 Occasions catalog and Sale-a-bration brochure. Unfortunately, taking pictures totally escaped my mine as we all were amazed at all the different ideas. Dallas brought a great Christmas card she had designed and told us it could be used for all holidays and we started seeing all the holiday possibilities. I will ask her to send e-mail a picture or dropp off the card so I can post it for you. Pat brought a great Valentine Bendi card and I will share it if I can get a photo of it. There were lots more including a container step box (I believe that is what it is called) that Bethany made, plus lots more.
Now I will share photos of what we made at the meeting:
First, above is a birthday card using the free Sale-a-bration Lotus Blossom Stamp set (see page 7 of SAB brochure) and Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper. Lotus Blossom is a 3-step flower stamp!! It is awesome and I am definite glad I chose it as my first free item, and no, I did not stop with one free one.
Next is a Birthday gift card holder using the Balloon Bash stamp set (page 13 of Stampin' Up!'s Occasions catalog), Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies (on page 9 Occasions catalog), and the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper from the Sale-a-bration brochure (see page 4).
Picture of Mini Treat Bag gift card holder and insert.
Last I did a demo of the Bokeh technique:
I went through every step and gave everyone a template so they could go home and create their own Bokeh background.
The card below is a finished card with the Bokeh background. The background is more muted than the technique card above. Each look is different depending on the ink and pressure you use when applying the background colors and how wet your Whisper White Craft Ink pad is. The drier the ink pad the more muted the color and design.
Stay tuned for more Stampin' Up! fun tomorrow.

I am working on earning Stampin' Up!'s Grand Vacation to Hawaii! I have 3 days left to earn it. I am about 1500 points short of earning a trip to Hawaii ( I have never even come close before this year!) So if you need any cardstock, adhesive, ink, etc. I would be glad to place your order!
Contact me to place your order or you can place them online using hostess code: BWUE2BZX . If your order is $150 or more, do not use the hostess code, so you will earn the hostess rewards yourself.
Today's cards remind me of the ocean (think Hawaii). Both cards use the Sea Street Stamp set #133988 for clear mount or 133985 for wood. First is a gel card:
On the next card I also used the Maritime Designer Series Paper #133696:

by Jean | Jan 15, 2014 | Big Shot, Birthday, Burnished Glitter, Cards, Spirelli, Technique
Below is the Spirelli Card using Stampin' Up!'s Another Great Year stamp set for my technique Tuesday Class:
Stamp set: Another Great Year
Card stock: Baked Brown Sugar, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Very vanilla
Ink: Soft Suede, So Saffron, Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar
Accs: Banner Framelits, Big Shot, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, 1 1/4" circle and 1" circle punches, Owl Punch, Gold Bakers Twine
This is the other technique that we did at my Tuesday Technique class yesterday. I used the Burnished Glitter technique and Stampin' Up!'s Flower Shop stamp set for a fun February birthday card.
I wanted to create a card to make the receipient smile, so I added little hearts for the center of the burnished flowers and popped up a small heart under the greeting. Enjoy.
