I used the Embedded Embossing technique to create the background for my Patterned Occasions card. Embedded embossing is a fun technique and my favorite embossing folder to use for this technique is Stampin' Up!'s Square Lattice folder. Sale-a-bration is ending on March 22nd, so you only have 3 more days to get Stampin' Up's Pattern Ocassions stamp set (free with a $50 net purchase)!

- Ink stamp with markers. Huff on stamp then stamp on white scrap and punch out with 1 ¾” Circle punch.
- Glue circle onto Primrose Petal or Midnight Muse punched Blossom.
- Distress Gumball Green 3” square and curl one corner.
- Attach blossom to Gumball Green CS with on Stampin’ Dimensional.
- Glue DSP strip about 3/8” from left edge of Whisper White CS with glue stick. Run thru Big Shot with Square Lattice folder and attach to Sahara Sand card.
- Glue Gumball Green piece to card base.

I have had so much fun playing with my new Stampin' Up! 2012 Occasions Mini items that I don't know which ones to post to my blog! So, today's card is one I created with new product and left over scraps!

New: Take It to Heart stamp set, Blushing Bride Pleated Satin Ribbon, Hearts Collection Framelits dies and Everyday Enchantment Brads (SAB).
Old: the curved pink strips were left over from a stamp camp I have over a year ago. The strips were left from the curved edges of the box template.
As you can I see I very rarely through left overs away. I have a 12 x 12 drawer that is getting full so I will have to start using them to make room for more.

This was the first card I made using Stampin' Up!'s new Blossom Triple Layer Punch (found on page 6 of 2011 Summer mini Catalog, check out the scrapbook page at the top). I am having fun with this punch and working on projects for my downline play date on May 21. I also used my Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder and Framed Tulip Textured Embossing Folder on this card — can you tell I double embossed the Basic Gray layer and everything that was adhered to that layer? I used shimmer paint to highlight the Framed Tulip border.
?
Another angle hopig to highlight the Shimmer Paint:

Are you enjoying the new mini? Well don't forget to leave a comment on my blog (see my posts at the begging of this month) so you will be in the drawing for my blog candy celebrating my new blog design which was designed for me by Michelle Laycock!
You can leave a post every day I will put a ticket in the jar for each post and will draw the winner on May 30. Good luck!

The last card of this series uses 4 different leftovers to complete the focal layer: a stamped image, a stamped and hand cut image, a punched shape, and a scrap of Marina Mist cardstock. Below is my new card, again using the Big Shot "Kiss" technique!

Inside View:
Hope you enjoyed these cards created from recycled scraps. If you would like to learn this technique, I would be glad to do a workshop for you and your guests. If you live close to the Central Maine area contact me for details.

The background layer, left over from a Christmas card, makes an interesting background for this new card. I used the Party Hearty stamped pieces to with the Medallion background layer. My original card used the Dasher stamp, gold embossing and the Versamark Stampin' Mist technique on the Cherry Cobbler inked layer. Click HERE to see it.
Below I used the same Medallion background, glued on the stamped and punched leftovers, and then added the Big Shot Kissing Technique for a unique birthday card. Hope you like it!

Well, I have my pictures done and am back from vacation! I did not take pictures at my downline meeting (we were too busy stamping). So I now have finished the shoebox swaps cards brought by Carrie and Nancy (again I did mine after the meeting). This is Carrie Arsenault's shoebox swap:

Mine may be slightly different as I took the components and then made my card later. Carrie used the Flower Daisies #2 Die, Stampin' Up! Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Big Shot to create this card. The technique is embedded embossing, don't you love the effect?
The cards below are a case of a shoebox card brought by Nancy Muir (again I made my card the next day). I did not have the same stamps Nancy used on her card, so used something close. The first card uses the same colors used in Nancy's original card and the second adds more of my style to this technique: extra layer, the ribbon and punch.

Tomorrow I will post some of the 3-D projects. Come back and see how much fun we had!
