Bright Blessings Mini Album and Thanksgivings

I was thinking about the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday and I thought a mini album where everyone could write a note about what they are thankful for and with photos would be something our family could share year after year. I remembered how I much I enjoyed Thanksgiving as a child. We always had a full house for dinner which we shared with relatives. Our family was rich in love and family ties, if not in money. Holidays were always special, since we saved our pennies so we could celebrate: a turkey dinner on Thanksgiving with all the fixings.

I remember my father always bought a bottle of Manischewitz wine and everyone had a small glass, even us children, on holidays. I only learned later in life, that the time he spent during the war in Germany was the reason we had wine and potatoe pancakes with our meal on holidays. We had a lot to be thankful for living in America. So because of those memories, I thought it would be appropriate to post this album on Veterans Day. Our service men and women have given a lot so we can enjoy our blessings. Hope you enjoy this album and start a new traditon at your holiday table and be sure to thank the men and women in our Armed Services today and everyday for their service.

The album closed:

Come Along on the SUDSOL Holiday Blog Tour!

My first project is a stationery box made with the AutumnSpice Designer Series Paper. The template for this box can be found on SUDSOL HERE. The originator is Jackie Topa who is also a member of SUDSOL and shared this pattern. This would make a great gift for a friend, teacher or neighbor. If you are one of my customers, please contact me for directions.

The cards are generic and the kit includes greeting cards and tags that can be added for different occasions as needed. I used Vintage Vogue, Great Friend, for the Gift Enclosure cards and Sincere Salutations for the sayings stamped and punched with Decorative Label Punch.  I attached Antique Brads to the Autumn Spice Designer Series Paper. Quick, Easy, Clean and Simple cards for all.

Inside are 4 cards and envelopes and 4 gift enclosure cards and envelopes and tags. There is a place to include a pen and postage stamps.

Next, is a fun project for all occasions: Milk cartons galore! Each milk carton has a different closure that allows each carton to be opened and closed.

The first milk carton uses linen thread to tie the carton closed. This would make a great place card at your Thanksgiving table.

Next, a Christmas treat carton complete with a festive snowman from A Cute Christmas stamp set. I used a Brights Glimmer Brad and banner to close.

Day of Gratitude and Autumn Spice makes a Quick and Easy Card

Today's card share is clean, simple, quick and extra easy! What makes it so quick and easy? The Autumn Spice background paper!

Stampin' Up! "Day of Gratitude", Autumn Spice, Card Quick and Easy Jeannine Tarrio 2010 Holiday Mini

Step 1: Cut base cardstock Cajun Craze 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and score at 4 1/4".

Step 2: Cut Autumn Spice Designer Series Paper for background 5 1/4" x 4", attach Antique Brad in center of a flower and adhere to card base.

Step 3: Punch strip of Old Olive with Dotted Ribbon Border Punch and attach to Background about 1" down from top.

Step 4: Stamp saying from Day of Gratitude using any matching ink (I used my custom inked piece of felt that I used on previous cards) on Very Vanilla cardstock and punch out with Decorative Label punch.

Step 5: Ink edges saying using sponge and Early Expresso Ink and attach punched saying to card with Stampin' Dimentionals.

That is it! When you don't have time to stamp a background keep it simple and use Background papers and a couple of embellishments to give it a WOW factor.

More Day of Gratitude Cards

Below are two cards each using using the same stamped centerpiece and a piece of Autumn Spice Designer Series Paper. My first thought was to create my card using the sample in the 2010 Holiday Mini. However, I soon decided there was an easier way to ink this stamp and I love how it turned out. Here is Carrie's card which is the catalog card with a twist:
